Retirees Deliver “Hands Off Medicare” Petitions

Metro East- On Wednesday, the Steelworker Organization of Active Retirees delivered petitions to the offices of Congressmen Rodney Davis, Congressman John Shimkus and Congressman Mike Bost.

Retiree leader Dennis Barker said they delivered a clear message. “We do not want Congress to cut, privatize, weaken or otherwise damage Medicare or Social Security”. They made clear that replacing Medicare with a voucher system is unacceptable. Retirees want to expand these successful programs, not to see them cut.
