The Illinois Alliance for Retired Americans was founded in 2002 with a mission to continue the fight for security and dignity in retirement for all Americans.
We’ve brought together thousands of seniors across the State of Illinois to lobby and advocate for lower cost healthcare, homecare worker wages, undoing Tier 2 pension, pension funding, making the wealthy pay their fair share, workers rights and more.
By 2030, the population of seniors in Illinois growing by nearly three-quarters of a million people. Seniors will become 25% of the voting block which makes it more important than ever for us to organize, mobilize, and engage with our peers on the issues that matter most and our shared values like protecting and expanding Social Security and Medicare, SNAP, and Medicaid.
