On August 14 Social Security is turning 79 and we are celebrating with birthday parties around the country! This card will be delivered to members of Congress everywhere, reminding them how important our Social Security system is to Americans of all ages.
For the last 79 years, Social Security has paid out every benefit owed to every eligible American, making it one of the most successful programs in American history. 67 percent of Americans are opposed to any cuts to Social Security, and surveys show that a majority of Americans now favor expanding benefits!
With members of Congress home this month, this is the perfect opportunity to remind them to campaign on expanding Social Security benefits.
Tell Congress that we can expand benefits for the majority of Americans—all we need to do is ask millionaires and billionaires to start paying their fair share.
Sign Social Security’s birthday card today and we’ll deliver it at birthday parties around the country.
Happy Birthday, Social Security!
