White House Virtual Roundtable on Caregiving
The White House hosted a digital roundtable on 8/12/21 & invited care workers & caregivers to share their stories about caring for their loved ones during the pandemic, & what kinds of supports would help them most.
The event was one of a series, co-hosted with leading caregiving advocacy groups The Arc and Caring Across Generations to put a face on the Build Back Better Agenda proposal for a $400 billion investment in Medicaid’s home and community-based services (HCBS).
This investment would create more of these services that keep people with disabilities and aging adults at home and in their communities, with the supports that they and their family caregivers need. The funding will also create more and better direct care jobs.
